I was born in Texas, but grew up in Cape Town, South Africa. Fresh out of high school, I decided to move to the States on my own to discover what the world had to offer, and to see which decisions I would make on my own. Through many ups and downs, tests of character, adventures, re-evaluating of goals, and plenty (but never enough) of world traveling (thanks to working in the yachting industry for 8 years) while simultaneously studying correspondence, I came to realize that I still had the same desire: to help people become - and stay - happy, whatever their version of that word might be. Along with my long-time interest in health and nutrition, I came across this career which is the perfect combination of all things good. And I look forward to changing lives one person at a time.
I've been happily married to the most phenomenal man I could imagine, Quintin, since February 2008 . Together we have an exceptionally gorgeous and intelligent daughter, Hannah Grace who was born in February 2012, and has us laughing daily.
I have a BA in Health Sciences and Social Services, specializing in Psychology, through the University of South Africa (AKA Unisa).
I am also a Board Certified Holistic Health Counselor, and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. I received some of my training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition®, where I was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods. Drawing on this knowledge, I will help you create a completely personalized “roadmap to health” that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals.
Some of my teachers at IIN® included David Wolfe; Andrew Weil, MD; Deepak Chopra, MD; David Katz, MD; Mark Hyman, MD; to name a small handful of the many.
I am a member of:
- The American Association for Drugless Practitioners (AADP)
- International Association for Health Coaches (IAHC)
